What do you get when a certified hand therapist and an arthritis patient share a mission to create compression gloves for hand swelling and stiffness?

You get a big ol’ hug for your hand.

Compression gloves are becoming increasingly popular for managing hand pain, swelling, arthritis, and more. They provide uniform compression throughout your whole hand, which can decrease swelling and therefore, joint stiffness.

Not to mention, they are becoming a normal part of any wardrobe with all the colors available.

In this article, I’ll share a product review of Grace and Able’s compression gloves. These are one of my favorite brands. They are disability-owned, woman-owned (the founder has Rheumatoid Arthritis), and is a FDA-registered company.

Grace and Able compression gloves were created to empower anyone with arthritis by providing functional, attractive, and comfortable joint supports you can use for everyday activities.

Read on so you can decide if you want to give them a try!

Who Can Benefit from Compression Gloves

You’ll benefit from the gentle squeeze these gloves provide if you have:

  • Osteoarthritis of your hand or thumb
  • Rheumatoid arthritis of your hand or thumb
  • Hand stiffness and swelling
  • Finger, hand, or wrist surgery
  • Finger, hand, or wrist fractures
  • Hand pain
  • Repetitive strain injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome

With an injury, hand swelling can quickly develop into chronic edema and lead to finger deformities. The gentle pressure of compression gloves, along with other solutions such as these finger stiffness exercises, can prevent complications from swelling.

Are your hands always cold?

You can also benefit from these gloves if your hands are cold during the day or at night. Wearing mittens, compression gloves, or hand warmers can insulate your hands and protect them from the surrounding cold air.

Plus, the warmth is particularly soothing if you have arthritis.

Material and Comfort of Grace and Able’s Compression Gloves

These gloves are made of a lightweight and breathable material that consists of cotton, polyester, and spandex.

They are hand wash only and air dry only.

No itchy tag

Have sensitive skin? Try their Skin care kind label option. This feature offers a tag free glove if labels restrict your swelling.

Open fingers mean you can use them for everyday activities such as typing, crafting, texting, and more. Wear these during the day or even at night if you have swelling or stiffness at bed time.

Variety of Sizes and Colors Available

When choosing your size, make sure you measure your hands according to Grace and Able’s guidelines. Their gloves come in extra-small, small, medium, large, and extra-large.

However, black is the only color currently available in extra-small and extra-large.

In my opinion, Grace and Able’s gloves run small. Size up if your swelling fluctuates throughout the day. And size down if you like more compression.

Here you can see a side by side of a small and medium sized glove. I’m wearing the medium blue on my right hand and small purple on my left. A few more wrinkles around my wrist with the blue medium however, not a big difference.

Cost and Savings

The price for these gloves is currently $19.99 US Dollars. Compression gloves for hand swelling and stiffness can range anywhere from $10 to $40, sometimes more. So you’re getting a quality product at a great cost.

Keep in mind, Grace and Able offer bundle and save programs. You can save money if you purchase two, three, or five pairs of gloves.

Use Compression Gloves with Thumb or Wrist Supports

It’s important to mention that compression gloves by themselves provide a low level of stability.

If you need more support you can easily wear these gloves under most thumb or wrist braces. Keep in mind, you may need a larger sized thumb or wrist brace.

Final Thoughts on Grace and Able’s Compression Gloves for Hand Swelling and Stiffness

In summary, Grace and Able’s compression gloves are a great option if you have arthritis, an injury, or surgery. They provide uniform compression, are available in various colors and sizes, and are comfortable to wear. They are reasonably priced and can be purchased internationally. Remember, if you need additional joint support, you may want to use them in conjunction with another brace.
